Cristiano Ronaldo has every reason to celebrate after securing Euro 2016
glory with Portugal ‒ and he has done so by splashing out £1.7million
on a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport. The Real Madrid star went
from tears of despair after being forced out of last Sunday's final
through injury, to sheer delight as he watched from afar as his nation
secured a tournament triumph.
And Ronaldo, who has been enjoying a holiday in Ibiza with his family - has decided to treat himself by spending his well-earned cash on a new luxurious sports car.
The black 16.4 Grand Sport, which is in the top range of the supercars made by Bugatti, is believed to have cost £1.7m and goes from 0-to-62 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
Only 450 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport's are believed to have been produced. The car has a top speed of 255-mph and the outer skin is also completely made of carbon fibre.
He joins a host of past and present sports stars by purchasing a Bugatti including retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather and legendary Brazilian footballer Roberto Carlos.
The former Manchester United forward posted two pictures of his latest purchase on his Instagram account and referred to his car as an 'animal'.
Ronaldo, has every reason to celebrate after helping Portugal clinch an historic European title against tournament hosts France last weekend.
The Real forward was reduced to tears when an accidental clash with Dimitri Payet in the first half of the final left him unable to carry on.
However, his heartbreak soon turned to elation after watching from the Stade de France touchline as Eder's extra-time goal secured a 1-0 victory for the Portuguese.
And it seems Ronaldo is intent on enjoying the glory for as long as possible.
