BECE Candidates |
Over 461, 000 candidates from 14,267 public and private Junior High Schools will today take part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE).
The examination is expected to be supervised by over 15,600 invigilators. According to WAEC, 57 visually impaired candidates would also take part in the examination.
However, WAEC has assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure that this year’s exams are conducted safely. The council has promised to fly the BECE questions papers to the various regions while personnel from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) distribute them as part of efforts to avert exam leaks.
“Arrangements have been concluded with the Ghana Police Service and the Bureau of National Investigations to help provide effective security and quality control monitoring mechanisms throughout the period of the examinations. Right from the time the question papers are carried from the depot, there is going to be BNI personnel accompanying the questions,” Mr. Kor said.
